Legislature Passes Distance Learning Award

Our Distance Learning Arbitration Award says that full-time faculty who develop or teach a fully-online course may submit an Additional Responsibilities Proposal for the additional work required. It offers retroactive compensation to those who taught "subsequent offerings" of online courses between Fall 2007 and Spring 2008. Compensation will be divided so that 2/3 of the credits taught will be compensated with future Additional Responsibilities credit, while 1/3 will be paid in cash.

Reminder on Furlough Days

All members of the full-time bargaining unit should take 3 furlough days this fiscal year, by June 30, 2010. We also need to take 3 furlough days next fiscal year. The value of these days is being spread across the 26 paychecks of each year. You're paying for these days, so you should use them! Furlough days are to be selected by the employee with the approval of his or her supervisor.
