 Sample Message to Legislators:

As you make choices concerning the state budget for the next few years, please don't cut programs that will help put Connecticut back to work and hasten our economic recovery. Please don't cut the budget for Connecticut's Community Colleges. Consider:

  • 99% of community college students are Connecticut residents.
  • Community Colleges educate both our future workforce and those who are upgrading their skills to maintain, advance in, or change their careers.
  • Over a lifetime, associate degree graduates can earn about $600,000 in additional income as compared to high school grads.
  • Connecticut reaps the benefits of an educated population in attracting and retaining business investments.
  • Over 600 businesses, organizations, and state agencies partner each year with the community colleges.
