Shortly after our message this morning, CSCU sent an email noting that "we will allow for the opening of the tenure and promotion process for all unionized faculty and staff so that those of you who are ready can prepare your applications and the review process can proceed despite the expiration of our current contracts.”
YOU made this change occur. It is through our collective work as a union, along with individual outreach to the Presidents/CEOs and pressure during President Cheng's speaking tour, that he changed his mind on promotion.
If you are eligible to apply, make sure you read the contract for the procedures and timelines (Article XII). You should be prepared to submit your notice of intent to apply for promotion to the President/CEO by 12/23 (the last day of the fall semester) and the application is due on the first day of the spring semester (not the first day of classes).
