Snow Day Communication

During the recent snow day event and college closures, some CT State and campus managers sent out unclear and incorrect information to their workers.

Our contract language is clear:

Inclement Weather of Other Emergency Condition

When classes are cancelled or the college is closed due to inclement weather or other emergency conditions, all employees need not report to work and staff shall suffer no loss of pay or charge to accrued time.

Any instructions that employ Virtual Operations, Level 2, Remote Operations, any directions to work remotely, pivot online, or instructions for classes to be held online or teach remotely are vestiges of Emergency Operations during COVID. These terms are no longer applicable and should not be used.

We are working with President Maduko’s staff to ensure correct information is sent out in the future that adheres to our contract.
