Subject: Call for Nominations for Bargaining Committee (BC) Members
We are excited to announce that nominations for the Bargaining Committee for the upcoming 2025 contract negotiations are now open. This is an essential opportunity for 4Cs members to take an active role in shaping the future of our union’s contract and advocating for the interests of our members.
Bargaining Committee Composition:
- Each campus chapter is eligible to elect three members to represent their chapter: one full-time faculty member, one part-time member, and one full-time CCP.
- The College Office chapter can elect up to **two members**.
- Members of the Executive Board (Public Division) will also serve on the Bargaining Committee.
- All elected members must be in good standing with the 4Cs.
Key Responsibilities:
The Bargaining Committee will:
- Lead all contract negotiations on behalf of 4Cs members.
- Participate in contract subcommittees where you have expertise, such as full-time faculty, CCPs, part-timers, Allied Health, and Manufacturing.
- Participate in coalition bargaining with CSCU unions as appropriate.
- Report progress and updates to the Delegate Assembly and campus membership.
Nominations:
Nominations are now being accepted from all chapters. To submit a nomination, please email Ellen Benson at ellen@the4cs.org by September 28.
Elections:
Elections will be held online and facilitated through the 4Cs Hartford office.
Important Dates:
- Nomination Deadline: September 28, 2024
- Election: September 30 - October 7, 2024
- Mandatory Meeting for Bargaining Committee Members: October 9, 2-4:30 at Central CT State University in New Britain
