Approximately 200 teaching faculty won union recognition with the 4Cs and have bargaining this first contract that features wage increases, establishment of a seniority pool, professional development, and free courses! Winning a contract means that you have a voice at your job.
In July 2025, our chapter entered contract negotiations for a successor agreement. Our priorities include:
Fair compensation that better reflects faculty skill, dedication, and the important work we do.
Pay equity and clarity for the new Faculty Team Lead role, including increasing the stipend to more accurately reflect the responsibilities outlined in the evolving job description.
Addressing compensation for faculty teaching low-enrolled courses, so members aren’t economically penalized.
Expanding tuition waivers to include use by dependents, to ensure our members and their families can benefit from public higher education.
When we stand together, we are stronger. The 4Cs is committed to building unity across all of Connecticut’s public colleges and universities — because our students, our members, and our communities deserve nothing less.
